In a program first, chefs and waiters involved in Electrolux Appetite for Excellence came together to create a memorable dining experience for guests. Not only did they create dishes with beverages superbly matched, the team took great delight in being able to share the meal with their guests, talking them through the inspiration behind each. |

Creating a back-to-basics, social style dining experience, dishes were served on shared platters scattered across a single dining table. Guests were treated to a menu spanning the ages: an entrée that paid homage to primitive [raw] dining; a choice of classical mains quite classical; and a modern, deconstructed dessert. |

Meticulously matched with each dish, 2012 Electrolux Australian Young Waiter National Finalists presented a bold and varied selection of wine varietals to guests. These included home-grown wines from the Barossa Lyndoch and Riverina regions, the Tasmanian Kreglinger sparkling and a gorgeous Nicolas Potel Maison number. |

The intimate dining experience occured in one of Flinders Street's most historically rich buildings, once home to the Metropolitan Gas Company. The building was constructed circa 1890 to complement the adjacent St Paul's gothic-style cathedral. Premises are now home to Careers Australia's hospitality hub. |
