“My service philosophy is to welcome your customer as if they are your friend” .
I was inspired to become a waiter… when I chose to defer a Bachelor in Events Management and take up a position as an events waiter. From day one I was in love with the energy and the pace of hospitality. Over time, I moved into casual dining and then a la carte, which is where I discovered my true passion.
I love my current role because… working side by side with the owners has always been important to me. It’s a fantastic feeling to help drive and develop someone’s business and share their vision of where they want the business to be.
A great waiter is someone who… is attentive and honest. They need to anticipate their customer’s needs and expectations. Attentiveness can be from noticing a fork on the ground to seeing that a customer is unsure of their food.
An industry leader I admire is… Ben Shewry of Attica. He has a clear vision of what he is delivering and is passionate about sharing that with others.
By the time I’m 35, I’d like to… have established myself in management positions in the top restaurants of Australia. I hope to have worked with the best in the business, having gained as much knowledge as possible from the people who are leading and developing the industry today.
