the rules (restaurateur)

the rules – young restaurateurs can enter who; 

  • are 35 years of age or under as at Tuesday 07-Aug-18– applicants must be over 18
  • have owned their business under the same name for a minimum of two (2) years as at Tuesday 07 August 2018
  • have an establishment that holds a liquor licence
  • work full time within their business
  • are not a hospitality trainer/teacher on a casual, part time or full time basis
  • are an Australian Citizen or permanent resident (working holiday and bridging visas are not accepted)
  • are able to participate in all the dates (excluding produce tour & workshops)

the judges will be looking for the following in your business profile;  

  • Your vision
  • Forward thinking
  • Innovation
  • Leadership
  • How you are active in your community

the rules – application

  • answer all of the application questions, and provide all of the following (except where listed optional);
    • submit your online application with accompanying documentation via this form by 23:59 Monday 09 April 2018 AEST
    • portrait image of yourself – this can be taken with your mobile see example
    • copy or photo of your current passport page with your name & date of birth
    • If you are not Australian, a copy or photo of citizenship or permanent residency
    • CV  – max 2 pages
    • copy or photo of your current liquor licence
    • copy of your menu & wine/beverage list
    • copy of a recent review (optional)
    • a 1 – 2 minute video taken via your phone explaining what inspires and/or excites you about your business
    • pay an application fee of $49.00 for administration purposes
  • be available for all the young restaurateur dates as listed in the Restaurateur “The Dates” page (apart from the optional dates). If you are unable to participate in the confirmed dates we will not be able to accept your application
